NXS 2014 Safety and Security Guidelines for ORNL
Special Experiment Area Restrictions
Ask the Instrument Scientist before bringing any food or drink into the experiment area of the facilities.
No open-toe shoes are permitted in the experiment areas. No sandals, clogs, or moccasins permitted in the beam areas.
Site Regulations
General rules and regulations were explained in the site access orientation during your training. o Cameras are allowed on site, and you may take photos in the experiment areas. However, you cannot take photos of security-related areas (such as surveillance cameras, security gates, entry portals, and guard stations).
Cell phones are permitted.
Site Alarms or Announcements
Follow all instructions of ORNL personnel regarding site alarms or announcements.
Medical Needs
Bring personal medications and first-aid supplies with you as needed. None will be supplied by ORNL during the school.
If you become ill during the school, notify—or ask someone to notify—one of the following ORNL staff:
